In order to receive His blessing in answer to prayer, they must cease to do evil and learn to do well. Their surroundings must be sanitary, their habits of life correct.

Gods Healing Words

They must live in harmony with the law of God, both natural and spiritual. If they are determined to gratify perverted appetite at any cost, God will not miraculously save them from the consequences of their indulgence. Because the Lord has graciously healed you, you must not think you can link yourselves up with the self-indulgent practices of the world. Appetite must not be your god. But to press our petitions without a submissive spirit is not right; our prayers must take the form, not of command, but of intercession. But not all the sick are healed.

Many are laid away to sleep in Jesus.

5 Verses of Thanks

From this we see that if persons are not raised to health, they should not, on this account be judged as wanting in faith. He alone is acquainted with the past life of the individual and knows what his future will be. He who is acquainted with the hearts of all men knows whether the person, if raised up, would glorify His name or dishonor Him by backsliding and apostasy.

All that we are required to do is to ask God to raise the sick up if in accordance with His will, believing that He hears the reasons which we present and the fervent prayers offered. If the Lord sees it will best honor Him, He will answer our prayers. But to urge recovery without submission to His will is not right.

What is Kobo Super Points?

In his book, Smith Wigglesworth on Healing, he tells the story of a church leader who was very ill; he was bedfast and too weak to walk. They came and anointed him with oil according to the scriptural pattern, but nothing happened. I wish you would all go back with me and try it. At first, nothing seemed to happen. In a few minutes, the man rose from his bed and dressed himself, completely healed. Their faith grasped the power in His name.

Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord—rejoice in his presence! You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! You are my refuge, O God, and I rejoice in You. I will sing joyful praises to You forever.

Protect me, so that I will be filled with joy. I will love Your name forever! Have compassion on me, Lord, for I am weak. Heal me, Lord, for my body is in agony. I am sick at heart. How long, O Lord, until You restore me? Return, O Lord, and rescue me. Save me because of Your unfailing love. Lord, for I am weak.

Heal me, Lord, for my. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but I will remember the name of the Lord my God. Save me, Lord: let the king hear me when I call. Blessed be the name of the Lord forever and ever. Who can be compared with the Lord my God who is enthroned on high? He lifts the poor from the dirt and the needy from the garbage dump. The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake! The Lord is great in Zion, and He is exalted above all the peoples.

Let them praise Your great and awesome name; holy is He! I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I will praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness, for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. RSS feed for comments on this post. TrackBack URI. Prayer – Creekside Church

Prayer hinges on acknowledging that God is a higher authority, and that he has the power to change things to our favour. No matter how much we write, I am not convinced that we could ever fully define what prayer is.

Beyond what dictionaries may say pray is, the nature of God as described in scripture gives us a more in-depth insight of what prayer is. So, how do we define prayer, according to scripture?

The two verses below summarise it all. If you are called by his name, you acknowledge his authority. A lack of humility may cause us to not ask for help. It will also mean turning away from things that we know are detestable in the sight of the Lord. God as a father seeks to make our relationship personal.

He cares for you as an individual. Reasoning together means that there is talking and listening from both parties. The bible tells us that the tearing of the veil when Christ was crucified granted us access to meet with God. You will note from scripture, it used to be priests who met with God. No one else would.
